This isn’t your average beachside burger shack; during our recent visit we found BRGR Kitchen + Bar definitely delivers on their promise of “custom seasoning blends, unique toppings and in-house sauces” in full and flavor-packed fashion!
Amidst the backdrop of Sanibel’s post-Hurricane Ian recovery, the emergence of BRGR Kitchen + Bar also represents another welcomed step forward for Sanibel Island’s dining scene.

Remember back in September 2023? The Sanibel Island Beach Resort, the first major resort to get all its rooms back online after the storm, celebrated with a ribbon-cutting ceremony. But the party wasn’t quite complete – the resort’s former restaurant, the Sandollar, had been devastated by the hurricane and was still in the process of a rebuild and a transition to a new concept.
Well, foodies rejoice! The wait is over. BRGR Kitchen + Bar has taken over the former Sandollar space at Sanibel Island Beach Resort — and now that they have opened for business, earlier this week, they are busy offering a whole new level of deliciousness.
Step inside and be greeted by a vibrant atmosphere. The interior of the restaurant is completely new, Sanibel-sleek, and comfortable, with windows framing swaying palm trees dancing in the breeze, leading your gaze all the way down towards a tiny sliver of a peek at the sparkling Gulf of Mexico waters. It’s the perfect backdrop for savoring some seriously good food.
BRGR goes beyond the ordinary burger joint. Sure, they have juicy, custom-seasoned patties stacked high with unique toppings and house-made sauces that’ll leave you wanting more. But that’s just the tip of the iceberg. BRGR Kitchen + Bar on Sanibel Island offers a diverse menu that caters to every palate. Craving something lighter? Indulge in vibrant salads bursting with freshness, or savor the zing of tacos filled with bold flavors. For those craving something heartier, bowls brimming with savory goodness await.
