The Green Flash is a waterfront restaurant built on the former site of the historic Timmy’s Nook, which was a Captiva Landmark for over 40 years. Situated on the waters of the Roosevelt Channel, the Green Flash overlooks the waters of the Intracoastal Waterway, the glistening vistas of Pine Island Sound and the pristine beauty of Buck Key.
I like to visit for lunch and enjoy some Oysters Rockefeller, Stone Crab Claws and a Crab Cake Sandwich, especially when live music fills the humid air.
After lunch, walk the short distance to the famous Mucky Duck Restaurant at the Gulf of Mexico end of Andy Rosse lane. Order a pint of Guinness and sip it slow while sitting in one of the Gulf-front Adirondack chairs soaking up the sunrays and solitude. Green Flash owner, Andreas Bieri, is also the majority shareholder at the Mucky Duck.
